Whisky writer, tastings host, musician
As a whisky writer, Felipe has been widely published across industry magazines and websites. He is a senior contributor for Forbes.com writing about spirits, and is regularly featured in Whisky Magazine, The Whiskey Wash, Unfiltered, and many other platforms. For his work, he was awarded the 2021 Alan Lodge Young International Drinks Writer of the Year Award.
His book, London Cocktails, is published by Cider Mill Press and is distributed worldwide by Simon and Schuster.
Felipe is one of the world's most experienced online whisky tasting hosts, leading more than 200 online events for 3,000+ people around the world since April 2020. He regularly runs virtual and live tastings ranging from public to private to corporate. Past live events have included paired experiences with live music, cigars, cheese, gourmet food, and more.
He is on the judging panel for the World Whiskies Awards, the Independent Bottlers' Challenge, the UK Cognac Bartender Contest, and other spirits competitions.
As a musician, he is the co-founder of The Rhythm and Booze Project, a duo fusing live music and whisky through gigs, tasting events, and multimedia. Past projects encompass performances at the Edinburgh Fringe of the band's own show Two Guys, Three Drams which combined live blues with whisky tasting, and building the world's first bass drum made from an entire Scotch whisky cask with a barrel of Lagavulin.
He is also the lead singer of award-winning Edinburgh blues band The Blueswater.
